From noon on Friday, May 16 until noon on Saturday, May 17, SLPC will have a 24-Hour prayer vigil. Using the Lord’s Prayer as a guide (Matthew 6:9-13), we will approach the throne of grace with boldness, acknowledging God as King overall and requesting, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” There are tremendous implications in this simple, humble request for our own hearts, families, communities, and the world!
We’ll pray in the Conference Room and there will be a sign up sheet to pick a specific time(s), but at least two members of the session and diaconate will be here for the entire duration. This is a great opportunity for Community Groups to pick an hour (or two) and come pray together. And, of course, anyone who wants to show up spontaneously is welcome!
Looking forward to how God will use this time to grow us as a congregation, and how our prayers will be answered!
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
