Youth Missions Trip

June 22-28

This summer, the SLPC youth are excited to partner with the Philadelphia Project, a ministry in the city led by a figure known to many in our area, Ray Garcia.

This trip will challenge our students to serve whole-heartedly in the community and to think critically about how God’s Word speaks to social and spiritual issues. Our prayer is that God uses this extended experience of service, worship, and fellowship to make an eternal impact on youth and those they serve as well as a visible impact offering hope and restoration to the community.

When: June 22-28, 2025

Where: Philadelphia Project, 8230 Ridge Ave Philadelphia, PA 19128

Cost: $400/participant

Needs: In order to make this mission trip a success, we are also in need of two adult volunteers to chaperone our students (1.6 ratio).

What will we be doing? The specific projects that we will do throughout the week will be tailored to our group’s age and capacity, but will likely involve home repair and yard cleanup for residents and support for local daycares/church programs.

Where will we be staying? The Philly Project houses all volunteer teams in dorms on their property.

Fundraising: Participants will need to secure fundraising ($400/ea) by raising support from friends, family, etc. In order to not overtax the members of SLPC, participants should not ask more than three family units from church. We will plan to do a group car wash fundraiser in order to secure more funds (May 17)
