Summer Youth Ministry
~ by Jake Bier
The youth group kicked off the summer on June 2nd with water games and pizzas. We had a great time throwing water balloons and getting wet on such a hot day. We were also glad to welcome the new 6th graders into the group for the first time! It unfortunately started to rain and thunder halfway through the night, but we came inside Fellowship Hall for ice cream and more games. It was a great way to start off the summer!
On June 20-22, the youth will be doing a service project with Amnion Pregnancy Center, an important ministry that helps expectant mothers in need. While the specific jobs that we will be doing are to be determined, they will most likely involve doing yard work and cleaning around the facilities. On Thursday, we'll end the week together with lunch and a pool party at the Torrens' house. Please be praying for our students as they serve others during this week!
Throughout the rest of the summer, we have fun activities planned for the youth every other Wednesday, including a beach getaway, a trip to Hershey Park, and a bonfire night before the beginning of the school year.
On the weeks where there is no event, boys and girls discipleship groups will meet separately at the church for an activity, snack, and Bible study. Please pray for this time as our students have the chance to connect in a deeper way with our youth leaders and with one another as they study God’s Word!
